In a meeting of the Board of Directors held today, Bestway Cement decided to set up a Brownfield cement plant with a capacity of 7,200 tonnes of clinker per day at its Hattar site in District Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with 9 MW Waste Heat Recovery Plant. To that end the Company has entered into an agreement with Sinoma International Engineering Co., Limited, PR China for EPC. All necessary regulatory approvals and financial arrangements have been secured and work on the project has commenced.
With the addition of this state of the art and most environmentally friendly production line, Bestway’s production capacity will surpass 14.5 million tonnes of clinker per annum enabling to meet the ever growing demand for cement and retain its position as one of the largest cement producers in the country.
The project is expected to commence production by June 2023 at an estimated cost of USD 140 million.
