LAHORE: Punjab Environment Protection Authority (EPA) in collaboration with World Bank organised the subject conference and exhibition in Lahore on September 19-20, 2019. This was the kick-off event of the collaboration between Government of Punjab and World Bank to create awareness on environmental issues along with capacity building of EPA. Bestway Cement Limited participated in the event along with several other small, medium and large scale manufacturing local and international companies.
Bestway showcased its achievements and shared the initiatives taken towards conservation of environment being the largest cement manufacturer of Pakistan. Muhammad Rizwan, Provincial Minister for Environment Protection and various other visitors including government officials, industry professionals and students were pleased to know about the feats achieved by BCL such as Waste Heat Recovery, Air Cooled equipment, extensive plantations, rain water harvesting and much more, in order to become the most environment friendly cement manufacturing company. Moreover, one of the major myths busted for the audience was that there was no effluent produced in cement manufacturing.
